Review: Ribbit Rabbit by Candace Ryan

Ribbit Rabbit

by Candace Ryan

Illustrated by Mike Lowery

A uniquely clever celebration of friendship!

Frog and Bunny are BEST friends.

Ribbit Rabbit. Rabbit Ribbit.

But what happens when they get in a fight?

Ribbit Rabbit. Yip it, Yap it.

You’ll have to read the book to find out!

Ribbit Rabbit. Grip it, Grab it.

This is a cute little story about sharing and friendship, and how it is actually better to share and enjoy something together, rather than to fight over it and damage it.

The illustrations are simple and basic, which is great for the younger children, but there is enough happening in the pictures to draw the older children into the story and be able to expand on the words. It does present a great message of sharing, caring and friendship that could easily be expanded during and after the story if any children are experiences issues at kinder, playgroup, or school.

The publishers outline does suggest that 2-5 is an appropriate age guideline, however it is a bit simple for my 5 year olds, so I would suggest that any child from birth, to about 3 would enjoy it more.
