Review: Monkey and Robot on the Garden by Felix Hayes

Monkey and Robot in the Garden

by Felix Hayes

Illustrated by Hannah Broadway

Monkey and Robot are best friends. One day they receive a box of seeds in the post. Monkey’s seeds quickly start growing, which he is very happy about! Robot’s grow much more slowly…Can Robot be patient? Perhaps his seeds will be a tasty surprise!

Another great book from the Monkey and Robot series, it guides young children through learning patience and that things are not always what they seem. Especially when Monkey’s seeds grow fast and beautifully into a sunflower and Robot’s grow slow and delicious into carrots. The story promotes discussion, reasoning and problem solving. It is filled with large bright and well detailed illustrations that will capture any child’s imagination. A great series if you are trying to encourage boys to read.

This is  a book (and series) that promotes pretend play by having cardboard cut out puppets in the back, and a link to the Monkey and Robot website, which you can find here.
